Ah yes because managing the health and life of a tank of water algae that need light, heat and alkaline level management will be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper than cutting a fucking tree or bush.

I’m sure these things won’t just die in an extreme weather week, heatwave or freeze over.

It isn’t about cost efficiency, it’s about space. Trees take up space because of their roots., and we need more space because most societies are car dependent. Don’t worry about cost capitalism will fix this issue by hiking the prices of parking!! Don’t you just love the innovative spirit!

This also has the added benefit of looking like something from blade runner so we are inching ever so close to a dystopian society.

Not satisfied with our dystopian Sci Fi progress until a gun and a burger both cost $30, the flipper zero’s functionality is just built into phones, and i can quit my job and live in a farming commune on an abandoned offshore oil rig.

Unfortunately, we’re not going to get any of that. Instead, we’ll just get President ChatGPT “accidentally” saying a slur in the State of the Union livestream, a law where you can get arrested and detained indefinitely by any landowner for any or no reason, and instead of synthetic food being cheaper than real food, we’re just all going to spend $50 on a bag of dry lentils.

I mean, space costs money. Some brain genius simply decided that whatever the fuck this is would be more “cost efficient” than a tree by overvaluing the property its attached to.

we need more space because most societies are car dependent.

Yeah, talk about maximizing that efficiency of land use. Yesh.

talk about maximizing that efficiency of land use.

it is efficient for generating profit. Not for satisfying any human need though
