“It’s so confusing and outrageous to eat, it’s so lawless and outrageous,” a blogger wrote, adding that “white people food” is the “lunch of suffering.”

“The point of the white people’s meal is to learn what it feels like to be dead, but I’ve taken two bites and it was so bad it made me realize how alive I am,” a Weibo user wrote.

All the nubluechecks in the comments about Asians eating dogs. As if that’s weirder than eating other animals. Hell, fresh, well seasoned dog is significantly less weird than the processed mystery meat :cracker: s eat for lunch.

I only recently learned that after being executed, Nat Turner was [CW: death, cannibalism]

skinned, cooked, and eaten by slave owners

so historically white people take the L in this category

EDIT: spoilered like it probably should have been in the first place. I’m not sure how true the last bit is, but the first bit definitely was, since they made commemorative purses with the material

The Gruesome History of Eating Corpses as Medicine: The question was not “Should you eat human flesh?” says one historian, but, “What sort of flesh should you eat?”

Sweetness and wit, sure. But mummy? In her search for an explanation, Noble, a lecturer of English at the University of New England in Australia, made a surprising discovery: That word recurs throughout the literature of early modern Europe, from Donne’s “Love’s Alchemy” to Shakespeare’s “Othello” and Edmund Spenser’s “The Faerie Queene,” because mummies and other preserved and fresh human remains were a common ingredient in the medicine of that time. In short: Not long ago, Europeans were cannibals.

There’s a meat many people in my area consider a delicacy called scrapple. It’s fried hash brown shaped pieces of meat slurry made from discarded animal parts.

Grew up poor, so the version I remember was extra-special. Hog scraps (think lips & assholes versus head meat) bound together with corn meal mush… had to eat that shit for breakfast as a kid. When frying the thin slices (spam musubi style) this white, puss-looking goo would leak out of it. That smell… woof.
