I endorse this answer. Any of that Ayn Rand fucking bullshit for sure. I was thinking about sitting down to read it to understand how my enemies think, but when I cracked open the copy on my parents’ shelves and saw literally over 1000 pages I said, “yeah, no.”

Ayn Rand was an alien sent to a random planet to get over its amphetamine addiction.

Like there’s a part where a military train crashed into a passenger train and everyone dies. Rand then goes through the first 8 passengers and shows an example where they were altruistic and therefore caused it. Also all military and police in the book exist to keep the capitalists down so they deserved it too.

There’s a part where Rand’s self-insert ghosts a guy she was in a relationship with. When they meet again like 6 months later, he learns it was because she had instantly fell in love with an acquaintance of his. First guy was cool with it, and wanted to stay friends with both of them because that other guy shared his philosophy is it’s almost like she still loved him.

There’s another part where Rand’s self insert is driving through random states looking for a CEO of a oil company who had vanished, and stops at a random diner. The burger she gets there is so amazing she deduces that person who made it must be some kind of genius, and lo and behold, it’s her oil company exec.

That’s just the tip of the ice burg.

There’s a part where Rand’s Mary Stu spends 4 hours reading a 60 page speech to all of NYC while drawing giant subtitles in the sky over NYC. The speech essentially amounts to “You’re all experiencing poverty because you too much from the capitalists and they went on strike. Promise never to tax the rich or regulate industry ever again and we might deign to come back and bless you with jobs. Anyway, enjoy your famine.” And then everyone clapped.

There’s a pirate who goes around razing factories that have been seized by the workers or state because he can’t bear the thought and this is painted as a good guy righting injustice.

Rand’s Mary Stu is the scion of a wealthy family who wastes his family fortune and the capital of the USA, Mexico, and as many investors as possible on intentionally bad investments while pretending to fuck as many women as possible to keep the government from realizing he’s secretly a super-capitalist genius and saving himself for Rand’s self-insert.
