You cant even discuss genocide like the one happening in gaza with liberals here because they love their “both sides” so fucking much to the point where when you ask “is genocide bad?” they say to be in the grayzone. The west has no passion, no humanity left. The propaganda is so thick and it is everywhere not only on screens but in the air we breath it has become part of us. 90perent of the people here dont care about the genocide happening in Gaza or openly support it…the 10 percent are mostly immigrants and some westerners who have achieved to escape this dystopian propaganda campaign. Somebody needs to bomb this place. There is no way around it, we western leftists dont have and will not have enough popular support for our own revolutions. Please president Xi Jinping, export the evolution and bomb us, i dont even care about dying…i will simply wrap myself in my USSR flag and peacefully explode to pieces knowing that what comes after cannot be worse than what we had before and that the people are finally truly free, not only my but the people of the entire world.

Its obviously a shitpost, rant, whatever. Begging Xi to liberate the west is just following up the mainstream media narrative that China wants to wage war, yare yare. Some find it funny, i myself dont.
Also it is pretty dumb to ask if if this is how we ALL think, as if this is some kind of monolithic group of people. While all of the members are left-leaning, not everyone is actually marxist-leninist, each and every member is at their own stage of learning and struggling with their own contradictions.
I have literally zero faith in the settler majority. I’d sooner believe y’all will go straight-up fascist before (with a major ‘if’ appended) you’ll ever, ever take a truly progressive or egalitarian turn. I believe y’all would sooner kill your subjects-of-empire before y’all would ever liberate them. If I had the mass amounts of liquid resources necessary, I’d seek political asylum elsewhere. Y’all are lost causes to me, and I see nothing to be gained from putting my life on the line for those who’d never do the same for me.
Maybe not so doom and gloom, but in general I think I can safely say that we agree with the broad point of this post. The west is so fully up its own ass and desperately needs a revolution, yes. I don’t think that revolution can come from externally though. It’ll be a long slow process, with the exploited periphery gradually liberating itself and the borders of the empire gradually contracting.
Yes and no. I think most people on lemmygrad have at least gone though a doom and gloom phase at one point, at least for us converts (Came from left liberalism, found communism, made a lot of sense to me when I broke through the propaganda bullshit, but felt like I hit a wall because anti-communism is so effective in the west).
If you stick around you will find a lot of good discussion with nuance, thought provoking ideas, and possibilities for positive change. But yeah, it’s harder to do that than to just look at the world with disgust.
EDIT: For context, this was in response to a banned troll who would not stop fishing for the answer to ‘so what should be done with settlers?’ Like I don’t know how that game’s played by now, tuh…
