Your opinion is literally worthless but sure

The purges were gutting the fifth column out of the Soviet Union.

There were fifth columns alll over Europe at the time that the slightest touch of the Nazi army and the fifth column rose up from Spain/Denmark/France/Czechoslovakia/Finland/Hungary etc

But apparently there wouldn’t be a fifth column in the Red Army despite it housing a lot of White Guardists who had fought on the side of the Whites only 20 years previously

This guy, Colonel Alksnis, was raised an Anti Stalinist due to his father being one of the officers shot by the Soviet government. He read the transcript of his grandfathers trial in 1991 and again in 2000 (before it being declassified to the public in 2018) and came away convinced his Grandfather and Tukhachevsky were guily
