So yeah, Hexbear isn’t full of fascists, it’s full of tankies, which are just fascists with a socialist coat of paint.
I think the reason full communism scares them so much is that, despite whatever complaints they may have with the existing system, they would absolutely own slaves themselves if they were able to.
