Feminism has become a bougie affect, stripped of any meaningful political demands. Any “gender” based fight you could have is just a simulacrum of a broader, class based fight you should be having. Me-too failed because it was only for ladder-climbers. No one was advocating against the daily prison rapes experienced by men and women because that would have required a class consciousness that feminists just don’t have. Wage gaps suck, but what are we to make of the wage gap between a janitor and a CEO? Being a woman is just another material condition.
Look at the way otherwise progressive Democratic voters went for Warren over Sanders. They knew she would lose, they just wanted to vote for a woman. Which candidate would have “smashed the Patriarchy?”
Class should come first. The rest is just divisive.

You’re having this fight over symbols to the detriment of your own movement. Don’t you feel like you’ve been owned when you have to explain “actually I’m a real feminist, feminism is when you don’t rape people, Joe Biden is actually Liberal Feminist”

Yeah, because this image does divide the left. No one is fucking arguing for a more sexist class politics, but it’s co-opting the arguments we see from the mainstream media about the left. And it fits right in with centrists saying “Oh look at the left they’re just as bad as the right”

nah dude. Misogyny is dividing the left by pushing away women. Misogyny is a force used by the bourgeois to divide the working class, preventing solidarity between men and women. If you actually want you unite the working class you would be including women’s issues in the class struggle.
