Propaganda’s a scary thing innit? Up until I became a socialist 1 year ago, I thought he was a pretty swell guy.
Jesus, same. It was two years ago for me, but until then I was on the “Obama didn’t do much, but he was a good guy” train.
The crazy thing to me is that it takes only a modicum of research/effort to learn that he’s a terrible fucking person, so I wonder why so many libs refuse to believe it.
Haha, I still remember how fucking lib I was back in 2016. I thought Hillary Clinton was harmless and Trump was dragging humanity into insanity/stupidity and dooming the world as a result. Still might happen, but back then it felt like the apocalypse was just around the corner.
Because bush and trump are so outwardly fucked that when comparing you create tons of cognitive dissonance around issues that matter with justifications of they’re worse. And most people are isolated in feeling these are their only options so instead of confronting all the bad shit Obama has done it’s easier to make excuses and point to some crumbs of improvement as proof he’s better. He’s also extremely charismatic.
