I think this is one of the subjects that is very telling when it comes to who exactly is most willing to destroy the concept of humans as a social animal and hasten us to becoming those Black Mirror drones in the talent show episode.
Like, how hard is it to just go on picnics or walks in the park instead of restaurants and bars, or to take some precaution when hooking up such that you’re not spitting in a grandma’s face or something? Instead, people chide others for not suddenly becoming sexless drones devoid of any and all social contact, regardless of assessing transmission risks…
IDK, I was living in a place that had at first taken measures very seriously but became a national covid hotspot due to things such as elder care homes etc even after alright adherence to physical distancing and school/work closures… So I was adhering to all that at first, and at a certain point when numbers went down in summer, I just took the dates outside instead and all went well.
Your mileage may vary depending on what area you are in of course, but trying to make contextual decisions isn’t that impossible, especially when it’s between 2 adults who are otherwise near-solitary shutins.
Thankfully now I live in a remote place with 0 active cases, so I got a date lined up with someone again. We’ll still be outdoors even if its winter, and I am happy to be flirting and having fun with someone rather than stuck at home being overly-exposed to doomer news once again like in springtime.
