I’d imagine a lot of it boils down to chuds not understanding the difference between liberals and leftists. Reddit is largely liberal, hating on communism and attacking China is not a minority opinion, at all.

They choose to believe that they’re being persecuted for being anticommunist/anti-Chinese because it makes them feel good. Has nothing to do with anything they’ve actually experienced.

At most there will be one or two commies getting downvoted somewhere in the comments of a post pushing absurd imperialist propaganda.
