It’s chill here, I like smaller more personal communities. Also on reddit when it comes to people being shitheads you can’t really do much about it in most communities. If i’m outside of a small circle of good subreddits and someone calls people the R slur or calls someone the T slur there isn’t anything you can do, and if you tell them it’s not really an okay thing to say you get jumped by bunch of people and for the next day or so you get people calling you all kinds of trash in your inbox and messages. Here on hexbear it’s not like that at all, and if someone does pull that shit they get banned.

It’s literally the only space I can openly talk about my actual politics without fear of being immediately labeled as an extremist/“crazy”/stupid/historically illiterate (one of my favorites)/idealistic & naive (another hilarious one).

Granted, part of that is my fault for not being more involved in a real life org, but I’m moving soon and plan to get way more involved with comrades in real life ASAP.

Until then, it’s nice to have a place that is (if only a little bit) outside of the constant assault of capitalist realism.

When I get replies here I always know it’ll be a great person who’ll make my day unlike reddit where it’ll be some ignorant chud most likely.
