You made some sort of stew all right but that ain’t chili no more
And yes, beans in chili is forbidden. That’s what non-Texans did to fill it out because their beef was too expensive. Unless you’re vegan/vegetarian, then go nuts with the beans.
The main difference between my red meat pasta sauce and chili is that the chili has beans in it.

I made a vegetarian bean chili and honestly it was just as good, if not better, than my family’s chili. Its all about the sauce.
