There are sooo many mechanisms depending on where exactly we’re talking about. Lawfare within 48’ Palestine, withing Jerusalem and within the west bank are different. Different laws for different people (not apartheid I swear!). I think the most common one is the absentee owner laws if you wanna do some reading on it.

My favourite however is that 96% of all land (within “israel”) is state-owned, see… there’s no “private” property, only 70-something years long “leases”.
