Thank you, Disney for continually reiterating that having money doesn’t make one smarter, more creative, or more capable. Fucking hilarious shit.
Imagine the overwhelming amount of good you could do by using all that cash to buy houses for unhoused people and renters
My face when I clutch a baby yoda to my chest instead of having stable housing:

You see, capitalism gives people a strong incentive to put the most competent in charge and make the best decisions. If you do socialism, you might wind up with incompetent leaders and bad decisions.
On the bright side, Rian Johnson is doing the next trilogy.
They’re gonna keep cranking out trilogies until capitalist society collapses.
To be fair, it’s not like Lucas had extensively mapped out an entire trilogy when he made the first movie either. He, Kasdan and all those other people were just mostly flying by the seat of their pants from movie to movie
And it really shows in ROTJ
True. It’s just having the intellectual property (hate this term so much), you would expect some level of planning.
Yeah but at least RotJ doesn’t spend over half it’s runtime retconing everything interesting that happened in Empire.
It just kind of lazily wraps everything up to get it over with. Anyway, my point was that these big franchise movies aren’t generally planned that tightly unless they’re Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings which were all made at the same time
I do agree that Rise of Skywalker was a laughably bad movie though- I wonder how much it was just due to JJ’s incompetence and how much of it was some ill-advised course correction due to fanboys collectively shitting their pants about TLJ
Absolute champ Patrick H Willems just did a video on third entries in trilogies that touches on this
