It’s the combination of right wing trolls who don’t live in the city in question, people who live in the suburbs outside of the city in question, and finance/tech bro yuppies.

The funny irony thing is that the people who do live in these cities and post on subs always want to talk about the culture and their idea of culture is eating at a restaurant that seasons their food. That’s not culture, that’s like watching Spongebob and saying you understand Underwater life, that’s you being a tourist in the same block you live in man.

Ironically, these are the people who kill culture, never had their own organic culture and wouldn’t even know culture if it punched them in the face.

I’ve been working on a residents:redditors ratio chart to track which cities have the worst gentrifiers but Pittsburgh has a ratio twice as worse as anyone else’s, probably because its sub includes the entire west third of PA
