The twitter thread from the woman Netflix fired is especially powerful and I encourage everyone to read it:

Sarandos also said that Chappelle’s last special, Sticks & Stones, is Netflix’s “most watched, stickiest, and most award winning stand-up special to date.
That is not an acceptable response.
Netflix then suspended Field along with two other employees for trying to attend a director-level meeting they weren’t invited to.
It’s so funny the idea of getting fired for gate crashing. I want to know if this was in person or over zoom.
Everyone on reddit is screaming about how the article is so misleading and she was fired for trying to attend a meeting she wasn’t a part of.
Like yeah you fucking dipshit I’m sure that it’s totally normal for companies to respond to trying to attend a meeting you’re not in by firing you on the spot and totally not about anything else.
If there’s a silver lining, it’s that since Netflix fires aggressively (they will fire you after a year if you meet expectations, as it means you’re not a “superstar” employee) there is always a glut of companies waiting to hire anyone who worked there.
