I got mocked one time on birb site asking about the emissions usage (genuine question) with the hundreds of SpaceX launches and I’m still annoyed about it. I knew they were bad but thus stuff seems way worse than even I imagined :/
As others have pointed out, the wording on the tweet is misleading. But measuring the cost of Bezos’ joyride into space should also take into account all of the test missions, years of R&D, producing and shipping parts and materials, and so on to produce a rocket that does nothing that existing rockets didn’t already do.
It’s not the same as a billion people it’s the same as a single person in the poorest billion over that persons entire life (assuming 75 years), so a billion times less than what the title says. That’s still gigantic though.
It’s important to be correct. Guillotine bezos anyway.
