I say we means test the Manchins by locking them in a room with every parent that lost their child because they couldn’t afford epinephrine, and let them know that everyone in that room has a pardon for what ever may or may not happen in the room.

This is why every public aid program is like “we’ll pay $30 on your student loans if you owned a boat between 1997 and 2010 and if you live at least 3 miles away from a railroad and if you have any immediate family born with extra fingers”

you could also just look outside of the us and see that maybe a country of similar size and population like brazil, has done these programs for years and people used this money to buy appliances and food, and that the benefits of that program are so obvious that even right wing politicians would promise to no touch it, maybe look at the healthcare system too, it would be kinda humiliating even if a country that has a fraction of the american economy had a single payer system that no joke YOU could use for free if you came over here and got sick
