From the g*mer.com article.
Update 25/12/21 14:07 GMT: Some conflicting reports claim this is the result of a DNS attack and not a deliberate ban. We will update this story as we know more.

The new of it being banned was broke by some “well known” fortnite patch leaker.
:data-laughing:
Playing any game but TF2 is :haram: anyways.
I have only played a few time the past year and only on community servers.
They’re really going to miss thinking they’re murdering Chinese players by posting that copypasta.
Wait how is it banned I can still see it in Baidu
I read two articles from game websites so I am not well informed.
Basically some g*mer noticed the main steam store was down in China and everyone started screaming it got banned. Now there are some “reports” it’s under attack.
Basically we have no idea about the main steam store.
The Chinese store has always been up. Apparently tf2 is not good enough for today’s g*mers.
:gulag:
They targeted gamers… GAMERS!
Oh, that’s actually pretty sad. There were a lot of good Chinese game mods on the Workshop.
There’s a really good Left4Dead2 campaign where the ending is a huge showdown in a central square, and then you get rescued by the Chinese military. Shit rocks.
