Yep. This is what Iβd assume is the biggest reason. This article came out last year but the anti-Asian/Chinese racism was going up well before that of course. I also think itβs true sheβs probably getting better treatment from the Chinese government and Chinese companies. Another thing that might be a factor is that sheβs probably also much less likely to encounter extreme exploitation and/or creepy shit as a very young fashion model in China than she would in the US.
