Can’t even dunk on this because this is no different than untethered and completely alienated individuals rushing to join ISIS because they feel they have nothing to live for. They perceive that it gives them self worth and purpose, despite it being a very nihilistic move. I know stories of kids that went to join ISIS, and the idea that they’re going to get wiped out really doesn’t matter to them. Death is a given and the only thing that they’re shocked by is the level of violence, which they eventually just normalize and participate in.
