china pls be safe.
What is the y axis in this graph
Sure but if it’s gone from 1 case per million to 5 cases per million (making up numbers) then that’s not a big deal or anything to really be concerned about
i think its even less than that actually. but even then, what matters if the chinese healthcare system can deal with the increase. a five-fold increase is definitely gonna put pressure on it.
It’s gone from less than 0.1 cases per million to over 0.5 cases per million. Their COVID rate is on the fucking floor.
It says right in the header of the graph: “Daily new confirmed cases per million people (7 day rolling average)”
I believe he is referring to the scale of the graph being incredibly small.
Oh wow an increase from 0.1 to 0.5, that’s like, a 5x increase. China is through!! 😱
Lies, damned lies, and statistics.
A lot of cope in this thread but it does look like things are going to get bad, or at least the CPC is preparing for things to get bad. They’re already building another 6,000 bed hospital in Jilin (which will take six days because China has god tier construction abilities) and locked down the entire province (around 25 million people), have locked down Shenzhen (a city of 12+ million people and the heart of manufacturing in China), and are diverting flights from Shanghai in preparation for a lockdown. They’re pulling out all the stops to starve this outbreak of oxygen, and I sincerely hope it works—once omicron gets going it’s basically impossible to stop.
