Has anyone tried these? The look decent. Gonna need a taste test here
I might buy some and report back tbh
edit: boy these ain’t cheap huh :yikes:
That’s the biggest sticking point in mock meats for me. I’m not gonna buy something that’s $10 a serving.
definitely not for me personally, but cool that theyre making these sorts of innovations with plant-based meats for those who are into them, and gets rid of the excuse of waiting for lab meat (and lets be honest, lab meat is techbro bullshit thats never gonna happen on any actual scale)
id be a bit worried its like beyond and impossible though, where they taste-test it against actual animal meat, do you know if it is?
Not sure, here’s the site: https://www.juicymarbles.com/shop/us/filet-mignon-2-pack
Seems like it would just be easier to flat out say “Im almost exclusively vegan but I do sometimes eat meat” than this self-aware “Oh I know this rationalization is questionable hohohoho” stuff.
Anyone who would get annoyed by it are already annoyed by the act itself I imagine.
I think that one Bourdain quote at the beginning is the only time he was ever wrong.
All these hot vegan substitute companies are like that, I’m especially annoyed at Just, they run a cringe marketing campaign where they essentially say “we don’t care about veganism, buy our stuff cause it tastes good” and they used bacon to promote just eggs when that came out. Like… eat a salad folks. Today I ate spicy red lentil soup and a fennel orange salad and I would never trade that for your shitty soy burger that smells like cat food.
Vegan food has come such a long way from what it once was and I love seeing all the different foods that can be made with vegan recipes. I have a hard time getting any because there aren’t many options in my town. Getting anything decent means driving an hour into El Salvador.
