sorry im too tired to explain it has to do with how they handled horse’s body thing and also how they handled the main antagonist.

edit: okay so i can do a short explanation

basically there was a subplot where the main character (Horse) started having her body changed because they were in a magical world, into the magical world’s artstyle/silliness. it was painted as horrifying and traumatizing for Horse, and Horse nearly committed (metaphorical) suicide over it. She gets stopped by her friends but doubts remain about her new body. Me and a few other people thought this was a metaphor for experiencing dysphoria, though tbf we had very little proof of that.

Fast forward to second season and the whole trans-metaphor thing becomes more apparent, but in a really bad way. It turns out the main antagonist disliked being a centaur and their origin is that they modified themselves so they could be human, and left behind a being to be psychologically tortured made up of all their centaur parts, which formed into the antagonist themselves. so basically the antagonist is two people, and the antagonist became evil because they wanted to transition to a new species
