It’s been 60 years since anyone had see women spend days dying in agony from ectopic pregnancies and stillbirths , never mind the shit the chuds are salivating about, which is the yearly parade of teenagers getting life in prison , or the death penalty , for something that’s only a crime if you’re on the wrong side of a state border.
Depending on how fucked up the bans get, this decade might also see a fugitive slave law situation, with women escaping into blue states and sparking a media circus when they get pursued by their home state.
Plenty of women die every year from ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, septic abortions, massive hemorrhage pre- peri- and post-partum. I’ve seen it. It’s absolutely awful, and it’s disturbingly common. Now. When abortion is “legal.” Abortion isn’t available in every state, and of course, the usual suspects are always the states where you have to drive all day to get somewhere else. There’s just no access to care. Which is not really all that different from the rest of healthcare in this godforsaken country, I admit.
You might not know that the USA is in contention for the absolute worst maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality in the world. We’ve dropped down past the usual suspects over the last few years, and we’re now competing with countries that don’t always have electricity in their hospitals.
Who’s to say the bloody toll of this won’t be just as hidden as the current one is? Or just carefully avoided and never discussed, as covid deaths are? What’s stopping Republicans from claiming, I don’t know, that the HPV vaccine causes fatal miscarriages, and so it is totally not their fault at all actually? It sounds insane but somehow they managed to get people to believe covid deaths are from the vaccine.

BLM protests started in 2013. Occupy persisted through 2010. Obama spent a solid 4 years crushing anti-war protests

without a doubt. Things have to start off hot and even then the odds that you can keep that going are so low. I cant imagine starting off as cool as it has been so far and somehow it escalating to 2020 levels of anger unless they execute a women for having an abortion or something. Also these protests are way too white. Feels like the people organizing them have spent zero time reaching out to women of color and it shows.
