Hard-hitting reporting speaking truth to power
Ya know, I used to think twitter-leftists were too hard journalists as a whole. Then I started working a job where I had to interact with them, and I’ve come to the conclusion that they are in fact all useless stenographers for people with actual power.
Way back when, I used to have this job where I got to be the one who operated the fax machine. I faxed press releases and boy, was I surprised to see them in the newspaper the next day. They’d also cut parts out or add their own words. WTF.
The telephone number on the press release was on my desk. Nobody ever called it to verify that the press releases were real. Not even once.
I would actually like that description of the food if it was used as a juxtaposition on how the poor and working classes of their countries are going to get hit by the embargo. Rich bureaucrats feasting while the poor suffer because of the choices of the bureaucrats is a banger of a narrative.
That’s not what the author is going for here? I feel like I’m missing something, because this doesn’t seem like dunk tank material to me at all. I can’t think of any other reason those details would be included here.
Is the purpose of this to illustrate these EU negotiators are out of touch with the working class and bourgeoisie traitors to the people of their countries?
Even if it is, why is that unique to Russia? Do US diplomats and the President only eat MREs during war negotiations?
holy shit, did GRRM write this?
When you boss expects you to give them something, ANYTHING, so long as meets the minimum word count.
