Whenever characters start singing out of nowhere it just makes me
this right here, this IS a Bad Post. congratulations
they are like movies, but bad
do they just come up to you on the street and mug you? or how do you even encounter them?
i cant remember when i last saw even a glimpse of a musical. and for some reason the only one i can remember is where the aging playboy marries the old prostitute’s super young daughter, and it’s very icky.
gigi, that’s what it was.
They have a little bit of everything! They’re the Golden Corral of entertainment.
Because they’re good. Musicals from MGM’s golden years are peak musical. Wizard of Oz, Meet Me in St Louis, Strike Up The Band, Babes in Arms, etc. basically the majority of Judy Garland’s filmography. That’s not even counting others like 42nd street.
There’s a real charm to them and a somewhat nostalgic feel.
Idk are modern musicals shit now? Wouldn’t surprise me if American musicals were also going the way of American films lately.
