This takes me back to the first time I heard about cops murdering an unarmed black man

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Amadou_Diallo

In the early morning of February 4, 1999, Diallo was standing near his building after returning from a meal. At about 12:40 a.m., officers Edward McMellon, Sean Carroll, Kenneth Boss and Richard Murphy were looking for an alleged serial rapist in the Soundview section of the Bronx. While driving down Wheeler Avenue, the police officers stopped their unidentified car and interrogated Diallo, who was in front of his apartment. When they ordered Diallo to show his hands, he supposedly ran into the apartment and reached into his pocket to show his wallet.[5] Soon afterwards, assuming Diallo was drawing a firearm, the four officers fired 41 shots[6] with semi-automatic pistols,[7][1][8] hitting Diallo 19 times, fatally wounding him Eyewitness Sherrie Elliott stated that the police continued to shoot even though Diallo was already down.

I still remember how hearing about this as a kid changed my view of the world completely

The brutally of the overkill was already insane back then but everything has just gotten worse

This shit won’t change until we change it

Cop guns should legally be restricted to one bullet and the trigger only unlocks when it’s pointed at their own head

I don’t know about insignificant - Akron was a huge mafia town during prohibition. Still a ton of organized crime remnants. Those guys think the Sopranos is a style guide.
