The strongest argument against “tankies” (Marxists who seize the centralized apparatus and hierarchy of the state) is that every individual has a self-centered perspective on the world which inevitably results in self-serving biases, including in governance.
And this fucking “anti-tankie” is under the illusion that not only does tasting a tiny bit of blood not make you a vampire, but leftists* would consistently resist the urge to use their position of power to increase the rent.
I say this as someone who will soon be able to ask people for rent. Rather than this, I will ask for a contribution of a fraction of property taxes and utilities. I will contractually prevent myself from feeding on blood.
I guess when you think it’s impossible to dismantle systems of oppression, the next best thing is to ensure that “good” people are the ones in charge of the systems
Remember when :wtyp-gang: had him on, uncritically?
I’ve long thought that an apartment complex would be a good place for a commune. You could turn the bottom level into a laundromat/market/kitchen/cafeteria/bicycle share/other essential services for the residents. Having a market and soup kitchen downstairs would mean a lot less grocery and gas wastage. Overall you would stand to save a lot of money as a resident in a place like that.
It wouldn’t come from a pretend leftist landlord, and I don’t see americans being able to be debrainwormed enough to work together on a project like that either. It’s a potential island of stability out there somewhere that we would have to work towards.
This means Adam owns property and does not like being called a parasite for owning property.
