When did Trump call for defunding the police?
I like laughing at them as much as anyone but this is just boring campaign sniping, spinning things misleadingly that are technically true.
Trump’s proposed budget called for a cut in funds for the Office of Justice Programs, which gives grants to communities for things including policing. But I wouldn’t be surprised if there is more state police funding elsewhere, or they just plan to ramp up use of the National Guard and CBP for local policing because they can subvert disagreeable locals.

What little policies that can be considered harm reductionist would in all probability be short term anyways. I’m even more baffled by people who think that the fascists are going to go away quietly. There’s a not insignificant chunk of the country that is ready to enact violence. We can just put it down to posturing, but there is precedent for this type of stuff.
