I thought the uniform sketches from a year ago were just sketches.

As my astro teacher used to say: We are are all in space, all the time. Earth is not separate from the greater Universe.

The Earth orbits around the Sun each year which in turn orbits around the center of the Milky Way every ~250 million years.

Every moment of our lives we are moving in space relative to objects humanity can’t even properly fathom the scale or nature of.

Shit is weird out there.

the circular model of the solar system isn’t even accurate, the sun is plowing through space, the rest of everything is trailing behind like a big ass comet with the planets spinning around forming the tail

This is inaccurate but a fun illustration of this https://tenor.com/view/solar-system-sun-planets-orbit-gif-4884349

Also terrifying tbh

and the Milky Way as a whole is moving in the direction of the constellation of Centaurus at about 600 km/s

doing Starship Troopers unironically

Then I unironically hope these idiots drop onto a hostile planet with nothing but small arms and get massacred.

So he can remember that he’s a pretend space admiral when he looks in the mirror.

Gotta look sharp when you’re engaging in a fantasy form of warfare that requires technology that doesn’t exist

It’s unfortunate but it does exist. There are ground-launched anti-satellite missiles. It’s plausible but unlikely that there are nukes and ASAT missiles in space.

It doesn’t fucking count unless it’s goddamn pew-pew lasers in fucking space, and do not tell me that ridiculous fucking uniform is not something you would wear while commanding the bridge crew to deploy those spaceship sumo wrestling arms from Outlaw Star. You do not wear that hat and order a regular missile to be launched from the ground and blow up a Chinese news network satellite. Not if you have any amount of self-respect or shame.

The Soviets put a cannon on a satellite and launched it into orbit. The first armed spacecraft.
