Why aren’t “young working-class people trying to choose between voting labour and not voting at all” considered swing voters?
Either they see those votes as a given, or see young working-class voters as in the same boat as your standard Tory or UKIP voter: not voting Labour because they’re not racist enough…would be my most generous answer.
But Labour’s dead and serves as controlled opposition. Anytime Tories mess up, Labour is allowed to have a little time with slightly larger opposition to soak up the blame for the fash.
Labour was getting nervous that they might actually win an election, so they had to steer the ship back into the iceberg.
Well, they’re showing their racism because they’re courting white male voters because the PM is POC
paid to lose.
they could’ve clawed back so much lost ground among the working class if they’d supported the fucking strikes. but no.
instead they go panting after what, landlords? cos yeah they’re gonna vote red tory when there’s already a proper tory party…
Technocratic politics, everyone. Having principles is inefficient and inflexible. Instead, stand for absolutely nothing and openly announce to everyone that your goal is to win regardless of the positions you have to adopt to do so.
Sleek, streamlined, undisprovable, and it eliminates those pesky morals and convictions that make compromising with Nazis so needlessly difficult.
