“Hey here’s a dish of veggies that is healthy and doesn’t involve any animal cruelty… yeah fuck that shit THIS NEEDS A METRIC TON OF BUTTER AND CREAM!”
Seriously if omni anglos didn’t have butter and sugar they would starve. A nice side benefit of going vegan is to actually rediscover “flavor”.
And yes I am bitter at the fact that I’m at dinner with extended family and there’s all these veggie dishes I can’t eat because they’re all wading in a vat of either butter or cream. Just bread and wine for me tonight…
I made a big batch of rice and beans and also potato salad and had those for lunch every day of last week. It looked plenty festive and they were also both 100% vegan.
I try to introduce vegetable dishes that aren’t unhealthy to my family but have given up, fucking most anglo Americans don’t want to try anything without enough animal fat, salt, and sugar to cause immediate onset coronaries
got my family to eat a vegan mushroom pasta for christmas lunch and my mum even helped cook it so i consider that a win, it was ‘creamy’ cos of coconut milk and nooch so that seemed to be enough
my mum even found vegan chocolate santas at the shops
of course the early christmas we did with extended family the other week was all barbecued corpses, and nobody wanted any of the tomato and chickpea stew i made
at least they did the potatoes without butter
yeah of course! i use this recipe, its a fair bit of chopping involved but i reckon its worth it
Did my roast potatoes in avocado oil today, so nice and crispy and animal product free :party-cat:
Butter, deep fried oil, corn syrup, and nitrates are the life blood of Americans. Without them, we have nothing.
