I just watched Knives Out because people told me it was just as good as Glass Onion.
It was fun, but not as good. I didn’t buy the whole ‘nice old rich man. All his kids suck so feel bad for him’ thing. Like buddy, you raised them.
Other then that it was awesome, but not as awesome as Glass Onion.
I didn’t know there was an OG movie. I thought someone was just making a fun subtitle. Does it still have Daniel Craig and his totally believable accent?
Yes he still sounds like Foghorn Leghorn.
It’s good, check it out. I just liked Glass Onion better better
I get that actors like to branch out and practice different parts of their craft, but it’s way less plausible than Hugh Laurie’s generic midwestern in House MD
Glass onion was cringey beyond belief. I was gobsmacked that that script got greenlit.
Weak characters and mega exposition dumps with one of the most lib endings ever
Just because a movie says ‘rich people bad’ it doesn’t make it good. We’re gonna have a lot of vague gesturing at rich people in film in years to come (it’s already started, really), and most of them have been as impotent as can be.
At least Knives Out 1 had strong characters, and I thought Chris Evans was hilarious.
The meta elements of the first film cohere much better.
Everything that happens is a result of people being too clever for their own good. The winner is the person who just acts in a straightforwardly good manner.
Also the supporting cast in much better drawn in KO1.
