Europe’s fate is becoming a tourist attraction like the Caribbean where tourists come to stare at old buildings.

This seems… oddly low to me? Here in 'murica prices at my local grocery store (miraculously in walking distance so it’s the only one I’ll go to) have risen by around 30% or more over the last year.

I’ve noticed a new supermarket chain popping up where they only have stuff that doesn’t require refrigeration which is really expensive to run especially now with energy prices being out of control. So as consumers you don’t get any dairy or meat or frozen vegetables or anything like that but you get the rest a little bit cheaper than other places.

It’s the typical capitalist solution, instead of addressing the real issues of price gouging and self-sanctioning they cut stone corners and makes everything a little bit shittier for everybody else.

Oh it’s definitely more the that. They fudge the numbers. Stuff I buy is more like 40-50% more expensive than last year at least.

I live in Texas where food has always been much cheaper than most of the country. The other day I went to get the same bottom-line bread brand I always get and it was fucking 4 dollars. And we’re making less as a household this year compared to last. We’re fucked.
