He doesn’t understand that everything the right says is just a front to enforce their hierarchies, that the immorality is the point. Right-wing talking heads can call for the extermination of trans people one minute and send creepy grindr DMs to trans women the next minute, and there is no ideological contradiction. It’s about individual power over others, the antithesis of equality.

As a trans woman, my impression is that the Venn diagram of transphobic straight cis dudes and closeted chasers is a circle. Alex Jones, Dave Chapelle and a bunch of other dinguses have already been outed as chasers and nobody gave a shit. That’s because all of these people secretly whack it to trans porn. They’re straight, but their ideology tells them to hate women, and as their ideology also tells them to not view me as a woman, that means i’m for some contrived reason the perfect fetish object to them, not to mention that they also tend to be the very unlucky kind of straight dude who gets grossed out by pussy. The result of that is obvious: The guys who laugh at me on the street when their friends are with them are always the same guys who hit on me when nobody is around, and i frankly can’t decide which of the two i find worse.
