There’s also people who believe in morality and god saying the same shit my dude.
But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort.
Do people like this really have no way to determine what’s good or bad without God telling them through accumulated records of a bunch of inconsistent intermediaries?
I think it’s about high-control environments. I can only speak for the US, but we spend the vast majority of our lives in high-control organizations. Think, not on the far end of the cult spectrum, but well along it. Using similar behaviors with lesser extents or frequencies, but still using methods of social control nonetheless. Life with your parents, then school, then work, and at that point you’re so entrenched that your home can now become a mirror of those other high-control environments you occupy.
Paying attention to your own values and moral reactions to things is a skill. If people live their whole lives in environments where practicing that skill will harm you, and there’s a civilization’s worth of pressure to instead adapt your thought processes to account for what people find “good”, you’re going to adapt. For survival if nothing else.
think they’re morally entitled to other people’s wealth for nothing
This is describing capitalists. The communist thinks that the workers–the collective effort of humanity–is owed everything they produce.
The capitalist produces nothing. They merely own “bourgeois rights” over the labor of humanity. Then, they invoke God to justify their injustice.
