Why do you have the expectation that DMs would be private? I don’t see anyway a forum or platform could prevent harassment without applying moderation to DMs.
Having my social media usage interrupted unexpectedly is great. I usually take advantage and take a break entirely if I can. Nothing wrong with using it as a coping mechanism, but any coping mechanism used to the exclusion of all others will become compulsive real quick.
if you really hate touching grass, i would suggest playing video games or reading something. both good for getting you away from the interwebz
