They literally had a fat racist redditor shoot a convenience store owner in the face because he was terrified of his own shadow in season 2
It’s been holding up a mirror to them the entire time
they’re so media illiterate and so trained to react to buzzwords that they couldn’t understand the most obvious satire of Amerika-brand fascism until the exact moment somebody got punched for saying “blue lives matter”. That’s the point when this blew up, they only caught on to it all the moment Bootlick Falcon or however that guy was called showed up and used their exact dogwhistles, verbatim.
So, I’ve been wondering, how faithful is the show to the comic book? Because the comic book came out in 2006-2012.
it isnt really, besides using some character names + basic plots, but also better for it lol. garth ennis really likes edgy/shocking stuff and in the boys (the comic) he tries so hard to be edgy and shocking that it just gets boring. i think the show balances out the shock humor much better
Oh thanks, I forgot about this show and didn’t realize the fourth season has started.
I feel like Butcher’s screenshot of Hewey’s files at the end of S4E01 was a direct shout out to this demographic.
