I would say 1 or 4, from personal experience (though in my old city replace 6 with MLMs that ran a kitchen and had gossip hour meetings) they’re most likely going to do positive praxis out in the world and you can sneak in theory and convert a few of them into some kind of Marxist, so you get to do the full theory praxis gambit in the real world.

My first question is whether you actually know that for (2) that it actually is that infested, and whether or not the possible presence of infiltrators is a deal-breaker, given that realistically every somewhat successful group will eventually be infiltrated in some form. That’s a fact of life tbh.

My second question is similarly whether or not you actually know that the Trotskyist groups are ‘sex cults’. In my experience is this a stereotype about most Trotskyists and while is has been an issue for many of them to devolve into cult-like behaviour, depending on where you are, the Trotskyist group will often be the best choice if purely due to the fact that they might actually be Leninists but without the weird ‘daddy-Stalin’, equally cultish shit that you can encounter in some self-described ML orgs and which is makes even less practical sense politically speaking.

In my experience it’s less “sex cult” more “routinely fostering creepy behaviour and handling it poorly” but not a tremendous difference really
