Their production is good, won’t knock that, but Gravel and his puppeteers are not leftists, and while they can be a useful tool, it’s gonna be breadtube-tier content, calling it now

Gravel himself isn’t really left, he’s just an anti-imperialist with basically no other coherent views. Which makes him still reasonably cool compared to every other person in American political circles.
Plus the two kids piloting him around are baby leftist dumbasses, so they at least stumble into good stuff sometimes.
My first instinct was to expect shit, but this looks very decent. Having propaganda that isn’t 1 hour podcasts or 4 hour lectures is a worthy goal. There’s a lot that can go wrong though. If they don’t treat youtube as just a dumping ground for videos and actually start interacting with the ‘community’, this is doomed.

The biggest reason PragerU is able to get away with its shit is because it remains largely uncontested. Turning it into a “culture war” immediately brings Gravel Institute notoriety and will force PragerU to actually defend their shit instead of just reciting talking points. It is already forcing these twitter drones to say hilarious things in “defense” of PragerU like “two wrongs don’t make a right.” Also, I don’t think that will detract from the value of having short clips to share with people that aren’t John Oliver liberalism.
I really don’t see why PragerU would even pay a lick of attention, or why people who might watch a Prager video would ever watch a Gravel video. It’s not effective counter-propagandha if we’re the only ones who watch it.
pragerU just focuses on pure propaganda, which is its usefulness. If gravel institute want to make similar short videos to send to your family etc. like they said, why make it about another channel? Then you would need to understand what the beef is all about, which defeats the purpose of a short propaganda video that can be understood by anyone.
Also, then it becomes just about owning the cons and not about a bigger goal of spreading your ideas. It’ll also make people think politics is when you debate your opponent

I do hope their future videos have the presenters making eye contact with the camera though, unlike the narrator in the COVID video. I could just see some boomer concluding he has a weak handshake and therefore should not be listened to.
