They grow up so fast.

The Shining Path in Peru used to hang stray dogs from lamp posts in town to protest the revisionism of Deng Xinping.

Stumbling into some of these struggle sessions, I feel like I’m a villager trying to understand why some whackos have hung dogs in the street.

Like how do you work up this much passion for something so far outside the realm of normal life and conversation. I’m just going to grow my maize over here and hope there’s a worthwhile movement to join in my lifetime, where they don’t spend all day coming up with a plan to hang dogs from lamp posts. I feel like I’m old enough now to realize that time is a flat wheel and the struggle sessions will revolve through my point in space forever though

Someone with knowledge of Buddhism should work struggle sessions into a koan.

And it’s such a ridiculous struggle session, too.

Let people have neopronouns.

You should set your pronouns, and it’s fine to call people libs for not setting them, but as long as most people have their pronouns set, it’s not the end of the world if a small minority doesn’t have them set.

Also don’t ban people for pushing back on the idea that you’re basically a TERF if your pronouns aren’t set.

See? Easy.

One of the most fascinating aspects of struggle sessions is that they seem to map out real world stakes of related struggles onto the participants in what in actuality is a low stakes endeavor (arguing online).

A great example of this is Syria struggle sessions; with the amount of venom and vitriol being leveled at both sides, you’d think that the participants are commanding Hinds full of phosgene around Aleppo, as opposed to all being sweaty nerds in the US and Canada.
