The book was actually awesome. The movie was a piss poor adaptation that completely botched and fucked with the plot.
The book was even more self masturbatory than the movie. At least the movie had cool visuals and wasn’t just a 40 year old nerd writing a book about how much he knows about Atari cartridges.
The movie is fine if you just get high and have fun watching some wild CG eyecandy
