I assume the fact that racism was bad was implied during discussion of To Kill a Mockingbird and the 4chan kid was like “the communist teacher is pushing Cultural Marxism onto me!”

Absolutely not. I went through 12 years of SF Bay Area “liberal” public school and I didn’t ever even hear the word “Marxism.” And if I did it was so small of a blip of a topic it likely only covered the fall of the soviet union.
I learned all about communism/Marx from my russian immigrant friend in highschool, we use to talk about it a lot, but never can I recall shit like that even being spoken about in class
most i was taught about was how “communism when the teacher averages out the class’s grades after a test”. anyone who says their taught critical race theory in high school is a fucking liar, only time you hear about that shit is when you take like sociology and actual queer studies classes in college
