This will be the first thing that disillusions and pisses people off who voted for Biden expecting change.

Liberals will be defending it vehemently cause they are mindless drones that go along with whatever the Democratic party does, but the average people who hated Trump and voted for Biden to get him out, they’re not going to be happy about this one bit.

I asked one of my Lib friends about it, and they’re like, “If Biden pardons Trump, I’ll be pissed.” so yeah

Yep.

“But if Biden didn’t pardon Trump, then you would have to worry about his base!”

I can hear the piss poor excuses already.

I mean some will, but there’s plenty of opportunity to agitate once that happens because a lot of people will be ready for something different at that point.

About as much as they dislike Obama for not prosecuting the Bush administration. No change. No hope.

So, I want to preface this by saying I have no more faith in libs not blithely accepting whatever is done about Trump than you do, but I feel there is a significant difference in how 2008 libs viewed Bush (evil but lawful-ish) and Trump (a goon). To me, they are both criminals and I think the lies that got us into the Iraq war are even likely a worse criminal offense than any of the many Trump has committed. But Bush was never seen as a mean-spirited bully and that’s really all libs care about.

Watching the Democrats promise to hold Trump accountable, then helping a democrat unseat a republican incumbent in the midterms, and then watching all of them do nothing at all while pretending to be “resisting” is what set me down the path of radicalization in the first place.

Joy Reid began this narrative the day Biden was announced winner by MSM, so it’s coming. In 2 years when they loose the house Michell will be handing out caramels to Trump, and in 4 years they’ll all be like “omg President Bannon is a monster, at least Trump had respect for the office”.

making it super easy for Trump to pull a Grover Cleveland if he doesn’t croak before 2024

The one thing that will make this harder is Trump not shutting up and going away. He’s going to continue to dispute the results of the election, he’s going to continue to seek out media attention, and he’ll run again in 2024 if he can.

Post-2008 Bush shut up and went away, so people weren’t constantly reminded of how shitty he was.

This is where letting dumbass libs enact one iota of Bush rehabilitation gets us.

It didn’t exactly start with Bush though. They were able to rehabilitate Bush easily cause they were never truly mad at him. Liberals supported the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan overwhelmingly. There was even support for Bush under the table with how they used to say stupid shit like “Al Gore probably don’t retaliate like this over 9/11” and “you can’t switch parties in a war, maybe we need Bush to finish it”.

They did this same rehabilitation to Ronald Reagan back in the 90s and Reagan was a far worse monster than Trump. Reagan is hands down the worst president of the past 100 years and libs whitewashed him all the way to the point that Obama said that Reagan was his favorite president and that in the 80s, he would’ve been a moderate Republican.

Libs may have bought into the wars early on, but by the end of Bush’s administration they fucking hated him. He had a 6% approval rating from Democrats when he left office. I remember talking to a friend who had volunteered on the Obama campaign about how a lot of folks there just wanted to complain about how awful Bush was, and how often that derailed conversations.

I don’t have a good understanding of how this turned into rehabilitation of Bush (and I don’t know to what extent he’s really been rehabilitated – I would bet most Democrats at least consider him a bad president), but it sure wasn’t libs liking the guy to begin with.

One actually good thing Biden could do is send a former US president to jail. Pathetic to beg him not to.
