In my books, it’s ok to bodyshame Nazis because they’re huge hypocrites who think they’re perfect specimens of beauty. I don’t actually think they are ugly, I just know that they would jump at the chance to body shame their enemies, so it’s fun to give them a taste of their own prejudice.
So, I made the post because I thought it was ironic that one of the OG fascists was a textbook example of the pol-face meme. In my head, a comrade without a chin could never have a pol-chin, because it’s restricted to a subset of fascists. I think maybe the pol-face meme veers towards the acceptable category because incels and fascists put an overemphasis on head—and specifically jaw—shapes; however, I can imagine how my personal definitions may not be shared by everyone, and that it could be misconstrued and hurt someone sensitive. 🤔
Here’s an interesting hypothetical: I’m trying to imagine myself in a scenario where someone said I had a knee shape that was (for some reason) associated with fascists: “haha, you have Nazi knees!” I would personally find it amusing that I ended up with politics in opposition to my supposedly predisposed tendency. On the other hand, if that person said I had “commie knees”, I might actually take offense, and worry that I’d somehow unwittingly become a stereotype of my group that other people laugh at. Does tying a physical insult to an ideology actually make it different, or am I just weird?
Oh right, just to clarify this post was in no way a callout of our friend @TankieTanuki here <3
as to your hypothetical, I think your framing is off because in my mind, the hypothetical people who might be offended, or more likely simply uncomfortable, is because it is essentially a physical attribute that people point at and laugh, and if you shared that attribute it’s still uncomfortable or even upsetting, even if you have a very positive self image it can still just be a really uncomfortable vibe. That is to say, when I saw your post I interpreted it as ‘this nazi lacks a prominent chin and in his own system of values that is shameful haha’, not ‘he has a fascist chin’, but I can understand where you’re coming from with your framing
and while the way I interpreted it lacked any malice on your part towards folks with similar chins, it could create that uncomfortable vibe for them. Though I definitely appreciated the irony of that fact and the connection to modern US fash and think it was okay to post because the point wasn’t to demean the chin, but mock the person’s silly beliefs. As opposed to just being mean about the chin thing, like just a picture of him titled “look at this nazi’s disgusting chin” cause yeah that’d probably make someone sad, and definitely not the dead nazi
So mayo pete has the high hopes dance while we have the cha cha?
Can we get Himmler/Hitler pronouns?
