However, he was pretty good at the getting attention and money game. Whoever helped with that is a champ. He just … Really fell apart and seemed to be running the campaign himself instead of preparing for questions.

That’s part of it, but let’s face it, he was posting cringe and a lot of the online left really cares about looking cool.

Yeah true, when someone is goofy and don’t have the correct behavior of a serious member of the online left subculture they are quickly mocked. The sheer ineptitude didn’t help. I will say, he was trying to get a door knocking campaign going and had actual volunteers. Coronavirus fucked that up, but not getting the paperwork in order is inexcusable. Now I want to know what the 200k got spent on during/after lockdown.

I think he was “supposed to” but they changed their minds at almost literally the last minute. Maybe they actually just forgot to register and are just trying cover up the incompetence? I think that Yang [MATH] even failed to get on the presidential ballot in like Ohio because they waited too long lol.

Twitter actually thought he pocketed the money and ran, for several full days, because (iirc) he missed the registration without warning closed his twitter account, and went radio silent for a while.

Edit: It looks like they didn’t miss registration: https://twitter.com/Joshua4Congress/status/1259786413756739584?s=20 He claims they were trying to get on the ballot by collecting signatures instead of paying the fee. They came up short somehow? and had to pay the fee after all. I guess people got suspicious mainly because he stopped communicating about the campaign as registration drew near. This was before the account was deleted. He claims that the 3rd party thing is actually something they just did on a whim because “WA is a jungle primary” that polled well was well-received. 🤷‍♂️
