I guess I need to be educated on this, but I’ve only ever seen the t word used for a male-identifying crossdresser. Is there anywhere I can read about its history as a transphobic slur?
Ok, that makes sense And while I’d prefer the term be used solely for male-identifying crossdressers, I can see how that’s hard to actually enforce so it should just be avoided.
I literally don’t understand how someone could conceptualize this as not offensive, maybe you could help me. Even referring to male-identifying crossdressers, how is the word “trap” have any positive connotations? You’re never trapped in a good situation. Why not just call them crossdressers?
