I’m not here because it’s an anarchist space, which it isn’t, it’s just the only sane place for politics imo.
I don’t mind that people here skew more SocDem/DemSoc/ML/Lib - because my position on anarchism has never been one of ideological supremacy.
Instead, people like me hang around here to provide texture and a bulwark against uniformity and echo-chambering; to nudge more libertarian minded folk towards anarchism if needs be, and to steer more authoritarian minded folk towards compassionate precepts rather than megalomania.
At the very least, if someone comes along and all they see is fawning obsequiousness towards left-wing idols and states, they’re liable to think of us as a cult, so we serve an important purpose as foils.
Ideologies isolated from the larger labor movement are ultimately just LARPs and subcultures.
I browsed raddle for a while after the sub got nuked. The vibe isn’t quite right but there’s often good links to external reading.
I’ve been wondering the same question for a while now… but in the meantime I’ve just gotten super involved with my local DSA which is interestingly made up mainly of Communists and MLs, but only because I live in a rural area and anyone left of Bernie who wants to organize/activistize fits in one lorge room.
