The terrafirmacraft total conversion for Minecraft was an excellent neolithic - iron age sim. It had pattern-based knapping, casting, and forging, as well as a robust metallurgy system and technology progression. I played it years ago and had a lot of fun. It has since forked into like three versions, so good luck figuring that out.
